Net neutrality ensures that Internet Service Providers cannot speed up or slow down specific websites or online content. On April 23rd, the FFC will repeal this measure. A large amount of marketing is done in the digital world. Even for those of us who specialize in experiences, we aim for those experiences to be sharable on social media.
So, what does the repeal of net neutrality mean for our industry?
The largest concern seems to be standing out from competition. With the deregulation of cable companies will allow large conglomerates to pay more to ISPs for better service and therefore have the advantage of getting in front of more consumers.
From revisiting your content strategy to accepting that you may need to invest more financially, marketing professionals have a lot to do to prepare for the FFC’s net neutrality repeal in April.
