SOCIAL CAMPAIGN MAKES COFFEE PERSONAL

Here at Legacy, we love our coffee. Like really love it. Like we have cold brew on tap. Literally. So naturally we celebrated National Coffee Day (September 29) in a big way. Starbucks did too.


As part of its #CoffeeLoveCups social media campaign, the coffee giant gathered 70 creatives to turn customers’ tweets into personal cups in real time by drawing on the disposable cups. A photo of the illustration was taken, turned into a gif and tweeted back to the customer. Later the illustrated cups were sent to the customers as a keepsake. Designs included a dog in a pumpkin costume, a dragon holding a coffee press, a golden trophy, mountains, clocks, words of encouragement and so much more.


By making these tweets personal replies, and on a day where users were already paying extra attention to coffee based accounts, Starbucks ensured plenty of retweets and additional viewers. Inspired, we’re guessing plenty of afternoon caffeine runs were to local Starbucks shops that day.
